Eight

I had the idea to design stickers based off the songs by Sleeping at Last, written about each of the 9 Enneagram types! You can find his songs and podcasts here: https://fanlink.to/sleepingatlastpodcast http://www.sleepingatlast.com/home-1

Each of Sleeping At Last’s songs are written intentionally, with details hidden beneath each lyric and meaning behind the musicality.  I wanted to create my stickers with the same intentionality and care towards each design choice.

Here’s my Enneagram type 8 sticker and the reasons behind it:

  • bold lettering because, well that’s self explanatory for this enneagram type (they love to challenge)

  • patchwork style watercolor background because eights have so many parts to them that are confusing but so beautiful when they allow themselves to be their best selves

  • colors of fire because others may view the fire as being damage causing and dangerous and harmful, but the point is actually to provide warmth, and assistance and protection even

  • not a specific shape because they don’t want to be controlled

Nine

I had the idea to design stickers based off the songs by Sleeping at Last, written about each of the 9 Enneagram types! You can find his songs and podcasts here: https://fanlink.to/sleepingatlastpodcast http://www.sleepingatlast.com/home-1

Each of Sleeping At Last’s songs are written intentionally, with details hidden beneath each lyric and meaning behind the musicality.  I wanted to create my stickers with the same intentionality and care towards each design choice.

Here’s my Enneagram type 9 sticker and the reasons behind it:

  • circle because nine's care so much about the people around them and listen intently and care so much.

  • they care about everyone else’s happiness over their own and when everything is balanced and calm, they are most content.

  • yellow because it is such a soft color, symbolizing the sun and how it wakes us up in the morning as was the driving lyric in the song (“wake up”)

  • the half colored circle points to the song lyric that says “i’ve been less than half myself for most of my life”

  • the low contrast in colors represents how nines love to avoid conflict and keep things timid and peaceful

  • the soft details within each word represent how nines are very observant and detailed people; they see the deep meaning behind things and find the beauty in it

  • the leaves branching off the ampersand are olive branches which are known to be a symbol of peace

Stranger Things

I was prompted to replicate the work of the famous photographer, Richard Avedon and his American West shoot; I had the idea to plant myself, with a studio backdrop, outside of one of my favorite coffee shops and ask random strangers to let me take a portrait of them. Here are the results!

It was SUCH an immense pleasure meeting these interesting people and to hear a small piece of who they are. I had an adrenaline rush that day due to encountering such awesome people. I’m looking forward to driving myself to get out of my comfort zone in this way again some time soon!
